Question by dog biscuit: Where can someone in Indianapolis get Norplant removed?It is impossible to find anyone?
and i am getting desperate! had it for longer than prescribed. PLEASE help.
Planned parenthood is no good unless i get to St. Louis -6hours away.I had it done in Florida about 7 years ago and have not been able to find ANYONE in the area to do it, not even the health department

Norplant Removal
Norplant® is a method of birth control that is no longer available for insertion. Women who are already using Norplant may continue to do so.
Norplant® consists of six thin, flexible plastic implants, each the size of a cardboard matchstick. They are inserted under the skin of the upper arm, to release hormones into the body. Each contains a hormone is that is released constantly.
Removing the capsules requires a brief visit with a clinician. Medication is used to numb the upper arm. A small slit is made in the skin and the six capsules are removed.
An appointment is required for the removal of Norplant®.
Norplant® does not protect against sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Always use a latex or female condom to help prevent STIs.
